There are several ways of receiving the benefits of Live-cell and Stem Cell Therapy. Lets explore some of these methods.

  1. Stem Cell Injection - The procedure involves injecting cord stem cells or adult stem cells into specific areas to start the healing and regenerative process usually performed in hospitals where protocols and medical standards are enforced. Costs > US$10,000 and upwards.

  2. Stem Cell Transplant - Also known as bone marrow transplant. It is a procedure that replaces cells that were damaged by infection, disease, or chemotherapy radiation with healthy cells via a process similar to blood transfusion. It is traditionally performed on people with cancerous (malignant) or noncancerous (benign) diseases, such as acute leukemia, aplastic anemia, bone marrow failure syndromes, hemoglobinopathies, inborn errors of metabolism, immune deficiencies, plasma cell disorders, just to name a few. Costs > US$30k and upwards per operation.

  3. Cellular Prolotherapy - Cellular Prolotherapy is a regenerative injection treatment used to treat joint and spine pain by repairing damaged and weakened ligaments and tendons, usually requires several visits to enjoy full recovery. Using Direct Bone Marrow Aspirate as a Proliferant for Regenerative Injection Therapy (Prolotherapy) together with is one example. This procedure combines both method 1 and 2 where patients own bone marrow cells are extracted and then injected into affected area. Cellular Prolotherapy is normally used with Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy to ensure full recovery. Costs US$300 ~ US$3000 per visit.

  4. Cord-Blood Banking - A process where umbilical cord blood is extracted after the birth of a baby and then sealed, tested and stored in a cord bank for up to 21 years. There are 10x more stem cells in the umbilical cord than bone marrow. Stem cells from cord blood rarely contains infectious diseases and has low risk of rejection when used as adult stems. Storage at private cord bank comes at a premium of US$1400 ~ US$2300, annual fees US$100 ~ US$200 excluding registration fees & retrieval fees.

  5. Adult Stem Cell Banking - Somewhat similar to Cord-Blood Banking how ever this is performed for adults where mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) which can be found in every tissue of the adult body and are usually extracted from bone marrow, umbilical cord blood, placenta and fat. However, this method is best performed when we are younger because ageing greatly lowers the quality of the MSCs derived. Costs US$100 ~ US$400 for extracting the MSCs, excluding admin costs and annual storage fees.

  6. Maintaining healthy lifestyle is the most affordable yet not easy because it involves lots of self discipline and time spent to learn the right diet and execise methods. But it is by far the most rewarding when one achieves the balance. Many attempted but few succeed in maintaining the balance over their lifetime. Cost varies between individuals.

  7. Placenta Injection from Beauty Salon/ Health Clinics - Usually performed by unlicensed practicitioners whose source of stem cells are seriously questionable. Premium may not necessarily be cheap especially when you factor in the risks of infections, the type of stem cells used and malpractices involved. Costs US$50 and up.

note: Premiums are subject to change due to seasonal promotions, price wars and competition between clinics / hospitals, inflation, etc. The premium range quoted here are just for general reference only.
